About this role

Overview

This role combines hands-on computer inspection, testing, inventory processing, documentation, troubleshooting, and preparing devices for resale. You will work alongside a team that cares about accuracy, honest communication, and improving the way work gets done.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming computers and electronics
  • Confirm model, specifications, serial number, and configuration
  • Test displays, keyboards, trackpads, cameras, speakers, ports, batteries, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other hardware
  • Identify cosmetic and functional problems
  • Compare received condition against submitted condition
  • Photograph and document defects
  • Securely erase devices
  • Install or restore operating systems
  • Update internal inventory records
  • Prepare devices for resale
  • Escalate unusual issues
  • Keep the work area organized

What success looks like

  • Learn the inspection process during your first 30 days
  • Process devices independently within 90 days
  • Maintain consistent, accurate documentation
  • Identify common issues without prompting
  • Contribute improvement ideas as you learn the workflow

Qualifications

  • Dependable and punctual
  • Comfortable using computers
  • Able to follow written procedures
  • Careful with details
  • Honest when uncertain or when a mistake occurs
  • Able to work independently
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks accurately

Helpful experience (not required)

  • Experience with Macs or PCs
  • Electronics repair
  • IT support
  • Computer labs
  • Device diagnostics

Physical requirements

  • Sitting, standing, and moving devices throughout the day
  • Working at a processing station
  • Handling laptops, desktops, and small electronics

Ideal candidate

Someone who is interested in technology, cares about doing things correctly, and wants to learn how a real device operation works. A college degree is not required.

Compensation

$20.00 – $25.00 / hour, depending on experience.
